The Financial Crimes – The Care Badge Con

Covid19 has caused financial hardship for millions, but not for friends and donors of the Conservative Party and the Vote Leave campaign. They’re in the money as government hands them contracts like they’re face masks in a pandemic. What was that? We haven’t got any face masks? Well that would be because the government were too busy sharing out the financial dividends that would arise from the pandemic. We have PPE shortages and an abysmal test and trace record because government monetised the response as a reward to those who donated to their political campaigns.
This is the first of a series of blogs that reveals how UK government have not only used Covid19 to increase the riches of their friends and backers, but how it will impact us, the workers in the future.
Boris Johnson and his SPAD (Special Adviser) Dominic Cummings, have a vision for a Britain where every aspect of our existence is digitised and exported to their data analyst friends, who will use it to predict our futures and our worth. Everything that government pitches at us at the daily briefings, is a step towards a plan that allows corporations to invade every aspect of our private affairs.
Medical records. Employment. Monitoring your movements. Knowing where you are every second of every day. If that’s not enough, now the government want your genes so they can make predictions about the intelligence and behaviour of future generations. Create opportunities for the rich to genetically engineer their families for optimum intellect, and to weed out cognitive and physical impairments. I’m not completely sure where their efforts will leave us, but the last guy that tried that shit in Europe was called Hitler.
I’m by no means a financial analyst so apologies if these posts are a little crude. These stories are much better suited to the guys at The Financial Times, but for some strange reason, they’re not telling it.

I’m a creative who generally deals with fiction but I was pulled into this story by an unlikely source. Most days, I just want to punch Matt Hancock in the mouth. Obviously I still wanted to but for the first time, Matt managed to stir something in me that wasn’t just skin crawling revulsion. Intrigue. It was one of the few times I tuned into the daily briefing from Number 10. Matt ‘the maggot’ Hancock was under fire for his failure to protect care home staff and residents. Still clammy from his clash with Covid, Hancock did that thing people do when they are trying to give you a steaming turd and pass it off as a gift.

Tories aren’t exactly known for their generosity, so when Matt Hancock started talking about acknowledging the work of carers, I knew there wasn’t going to be any money involved. There was a big build up and Matt got shiftier and shiftier with every beat. I braced myself for fuckery but nothing could have prepared me for Matt looking straight into the camera and telling the carers of England that their sacrifice and dedication would be rewarded with a badge.
I doubt I could have dreamed up a paltrier offering. Like, If I was writing this shit, I wouldn’t have been able to find a more apt symbol of the Tories’ contempt for key workers. My first thought was that Hancock and friends thought that carers would be grateful, after years of being ignored and underpaid, they’d be happy for any crumb thrown their way. I exploded. Twitter exploded.
It wasn’t until a few hours later, as I replayed Hancock’s words that I smelled a rat. Part of Hancock’s build up was some guff about him wanting to give carers their own brand. It struck me as odd at the time, but you know Matt, no sooner has he said some bullshit, you’re hit with the next stream. Thinking about it again, it seemed like an absurd thing to say, at what we thought then was the height of the pandemic. Why would government be talking about branding carers?
After a few minutes research I discovered that there was a lot more to the Care Badge, than Matt Hancock was letting on. What I found out would lead me on a ‘follow the money’ trail.’ Some of it has been covered by the amazing Byline Times so I will stick to the stuff that I think hasn’t been covered yet.
The Care Badge
Remember the ‘protective ring’ they threw around the old people’s home? Nah me either. I remember carers panicking as the first cases hit. The lack of PPE. Untrained staff providing end of life care to people with SARS who were discharged from hospital on government orders. I remember Hancock, face set in grim determination as he promised that the carers would be acknowledged for their labour. Their hard work and sacrifice would be rewarded with a badge. Only it’s not just a badge.

Meet Robin Batchelor, CEO of everyLIFE Technologies. You might be surprised to know that old Mancock didn’t just pluck the care badge out of his arse. It’s Robin’s baby. According to their about page, everyLIFE Technologies were founded in late 2014 and were launched to “meet a real business need – to reduce the risk associated with the administration of medications in care businesses.” The man himself looks like a friendly chap. Robin looks like the sort of guy you see in the adverts, helping his old dad into his brand new stair lift. I’m feeling the care, but I thought this was just a badge. A new ‘brand’ for carers. Who the hell are everyLIFE Technologies?
In everyLIFE’s own words, “Initial discussions with care business owners led to more serious meetings about apps, Java, Scala and cloud computing and very soon everyLIFE Technologies was born! PASS soon followed, piloting in December 2014 and going live in February of the following year. In response to the hugely positive reception of PASS by its first adopters, the risk-reducing, real time care monitoring app quickly became a multi-function care management platform shaped by its users and delivering an entirely new approach to client data, alerts and reporting.”
PASS? Matt just gave the carers a badge and a brand. He didn’t say anything about data and software and platforms. It’s all starting to sound very complicated but from what I can gather, the Care Badge is the branding of the PASS system, software that manages data and monitors carer’s interactions with their resident or home care client. I’m seeing a theme.
everyLIFE Technologies are quite new, which made me wonder what Robin Batchelor was doing before he founded the company. I’ll be honest. I wished I’d never looked. I wrote a couple of financial pieces back in the day and hated every minute. I find the research heavy and uninspiring and this hasn’t been any different. I’ve crawled through because it’s important that we push through the barriers that have been put up to confuse us, the workers, so we don’t recognise the many ways they are fucking us over.
Friendly stair lift guy, Robin Batchelor is an investment analyst with experience working for some of the world’s leading hedge fund managers, like Merrill Lynch, Mercury Asset Management and BlackRock. Even with my limited understanding of financial affairs, I know enough to know that the Tory Party and hedge funders work like a pick pocketing team, with the Tories creating the distraction while their accomplices raid the shares of British companies.
What is a Hedge Fund?
Hedge fund managers make high risk investments for groups of investors who have joined financial forces to buy assets.

Hedge fund managers use a few tactics to make profits for their investors. Predicting trends in the market and buying stocks and shares that will hopefully increase in value, then selling them at an optimum rate. Another way is ‘Event Driven Strategy.’ Where hedge funders take advantage of low share prices occurring when companies are affected by an event like bankruptcy, merger, company reorganisation or a pandemic.
Event Driven Strategies have created a lot of money for hedgies and their clients during Covid19. A major event that has had a catastrophic impact on many British companies, sending their share prices plunging and creating a perfect opportunity for hedge fund managers to snap them up. I’ll be talking more about hedge funds in coming Financial Crimes blogs but a little info is necessary to build up a picture of the man behind, the company behind the Care Badge.
So, Robin Batchelor is a guy who can cast his eye across global markets, analyse and predict financial events and trends. When he moved into care monitoring apps, he’d have had a clear picture of how the care industry would develop over the coming years. Robin may no longer be a hedge funder but his strategy to invest in care management solutions is starting to pay off.
The Future is Data
everyLIFE Technologies spend a lot of time highlighting the challenges of integrating systems and sharing information between private care providers and the NHS. Speaking to ‘Care Home Professional’ in November 2018,Taffy Gatawa, Chief Information and Compliance Officer explained, “everyLIFE provides the PASS system, the first mobile digital care management platform, and its accompanying openPASS app, which enables access to care plans and care notes to family members and health care professionals, ensuring the necessary consent and information governance arrangements are in place.”
Taffy explained that ensuring care home and NHS systems operate together was one of the main challenges facing health and social care integration and providing continuity of care. “It is the boundaries within organisations that are probably the greatest challenge to health and social care integration, sometimes even two NHS organisations are not able to share information between their systems.” Taffy believes that there needs to be a change of culture in the NHS if they are to be more open to the adoption of new technology. Their resistance to everyLIFE’s vision for the NHS, while described as cultural, is more about protecting patient confidentiality and defending against further privatisation.

The data men want inside one of the largest data banks in the world. Covid has provided cover for the government to remove obstacles and usher in them inside. The NHS knows all our secrets and for investment analysts, holds the keys to their future investments. Covid19 has helped MORE private companies get a foot through the door of the NHS, as government sidesteps them and Public Health England, in the delivery of their pandemic response. Tory and Vote Leave donors have been favoured above the established health care provider. Handed contracts, without tender, to provide a variety of critical services. Setting up nasal test centres. The Covid track and trace app. The ventilators that never were. Byline Times have covered these contractors and their connections to government and Vote Leave extensively here, for anyone who wants more detail.
The swiftness with which the spoils of the pandemic were divided, stirs the cynic in me. The threat of a global outbreak has been on the cards, and the minds of governments around the world since SARS made an appearance in the last decade. In 2016, a report laid out Britain’s vulnerability and provided guidance on how to protect the UK from a pandemic. The findings from Exercise Cygnus are too ‘terrifying’ for public consumption but a severe lack of ICU beds and PPE was highlighted. I’m cynical because The Tories are being ripped for not being prepared for the pandemic, but they sure seem prepared to profit from it.
When the pandemic first started to take hold, the PM was busy schmoozing business leaders. Seducing them with plans that would see Britain steer away from introducing lock down and showing the rest of the world a more sensible solution. That fix was herd immunity. Boris Johnson likened Britain to a superhero, rising out of the ashes in a blue cape as economies around the world crashed, Britain would prosper. Johnson’s speech seems to have been forgotten by mainstream media, but it perfectly outlines the plan to put business before lives.
A lot has happened since the Care Badge and its branding attachments were dumped on the public. Without an opportunity to perform and bluster, Johnson’s hollow leadership has been revealed and the man behind the mop headed jester has been laid bare. Dominic Cummings, the special adviser is the man behind the curtain, shifting the gears that operate the illusion of a functioning, democratic government.
A Man With a Plan
We all know him as the man that drove to Barnard Castle to test his eyesight, breaking lock down rules and enraging millions. Dominic Cummings, the sneering SPAD is not an elected member of Parliament but if anyone were in doubt of his power within the Conservative Party, his address to the nation from the rose garden cleared that up. This is an advisor who, as the head of the Vote Leave campaign, was found to be a key player in social media campaigns that the Electoral Commission found to be fraudulent. Cummings refused to appear before Parliament and his clandestine data affairs were given a brief airing by the press, but not enough for his proximity to the PM to be questioned by the public.
An ex night-club doorman from Durham, Dominic likes to play the working-class lad but even his scruffiest hoodies don’t disguise that he was born a suit. Cummings is Johnson’s Bannon. Openly at odds with government. Frustrated by regulations and fervently addicted to dangerous ideologies. His blog, is consistently critical of Whitehall and the obstacles it places between big business and state business like the NHS. It’s difficult to find a post that doesn’t include a sneering review of a system Cummings acknowledges as being dominated by the upper classes. But this isn’t an appeal for diversity. Cummings doesn’t stroll through his father’s private woodland, pondering the plight of the disaffected. Dominic Cummings is dreaming up ways to make them disappear.
Eugenics
That sounds far-fetched huh? Sounds like the twisted plan of some evil dictator. Something that couldn’t exist in 2020. Well, 2020 isn’t done with us yet.

Eugenics is ‘the study of how to arrange reproduction within a human population to increase the occurrence of heritable characteristics regarded as desirable.’ Eugenicists believed in a link between genetics and morality. It was the ‘science’ that relegated Africans to animals. Eugenics is the reason that racists like Boris Johnson believes we are of ‘inferior’ intellect.
Eugenics reduced us to specimens, to be dissected and experimented upon. It was the driving force behind Hitler’s ‘master race.’ A generation bred for intellect and physical prowess. Devoid of traits the fascists found unfavourable, like dark skin and intellectual disabilities.
After the crimes of the medical crimes of the Third Reich were laid bare after WW2, eugenics was exposed as a pseudo-science. Public appetite for racist theories eventually began to wane but eugenics is embedded deep in the foundations of European science and medicine. It centres white, CISHET, middle class men as the norm and shows up today in many ways. Inequality in medical treatment for Black and People of Colour. Discrimination against disabled people and the neurodiverse. The idea that LGBTQI people are deviants who can be ‘fixed.’
Though the ideological residue continues to impact the lives of so many, many scientists have moved on from trying to establish white, CISHET men as the ultimate being. But some people haven’t given up.
Hsu predicted that very large samples of DNA would allow scientists over the next few years to start identifying the actual genes responsible for complex traits, such as diseases and intelligence, and make meaningful predictions about the fate of individuals.
Dominic Cummings, Eugenicist
On its own, the thought of predetermining children’s outcomes by their DNA is alarming enough, That these views are being spewed by the Prime Minister’s right-hand man should terrify us all. More so now that Johnson’s hands-off approach to leadership has us careering towards disaster.
The Human Centipede
The truth about who is really leading Great Britain can be found in Dominic Cummings’ blog. Every strategy implemented throughout this pandemic, has been guided by Cummings’ bigger picture for the United Kingdom. It’s about profit. Monetising the needs of the population. The beneficiaries are already selected, rewarded for their financial commitments to the Tory Party and Vote Leave campaign. Or, like the everyLIFE Technologies, are part of Cummings’ broader scheme to embed private entities deeper into the NHS, and mine it for the data to support his genetic modification of a nation. He quotes physics professor, Steve Hsu, to expand on the future potential.
The UK could become the world leader in genomic research by combining population-level genotyping with NHS health records… The US private health insurance system produces the wrong incentives for this kind of innovation: payers are reluctant to fund prevention or early treatment because it is unclear who will capture the ROI [return on investment]… The NHS has the right incentives, the necessary scale, and access to a deep pool of scientific talent. The UK can lead the world into a new era of precision genomic medicine.
Steve Hsu
The Care Bade is a trojan horse with a bunch of investment analysts hidden inside. They sat in wait as Coronavirus tore through the care homes. While heartbroken carers watched helpless as their residents died horrifically, the data fiends and the government were sharing out the next round of profits. Carers deserved so much more than a token, but if only that’s all it was.
There are many big implications. This will obviously revolutionise IVF. ~1 million IVF embryos per year are screened worldwide using less sophisticated tests. Instead of picking embryos at random, parents will start avoiding outliers for disease risks and cognitive problems. Rich people will fly to jurisdictions offering the best services.
Dominic Cummings, Eugenicist
Yesterday, the far-right took over the streets of London in scenes that surpassed any racially motivated horror I saw in the 1970’s. London was awash with hate. Drunken Nazi’s saluted from the steps of The Cenotaph. Monkey chanted. Pissed on a memorial for a fallen police officers. Cheered ‘we’re racists and that’s how we like it.’ Black people are just for starters. Nazis hate everything that’s not white, CISHET male, and every fascist government needs a loutish street fighting force. This physically brutal oppression is all too obvious, but an equally violent plan is being schemed behind the doors of number ten. If only the baying, right-wing mob could see that Bominic’s bigger picture doesn’t include them either.
Reblogged this on all life less ordinary.
