About

Hi, I’m Judy, welcome to my blog ‘Much a Jude About Nothing.’
Which I think is a pretty cool name cos I didn’t come up with it. I’m not great at names, or blurb… I live in Ward End, Birmingham. It’s the kind of place Fox News would call an Islamic no go area but the most extreme thing around here is the smell of my neighbour, Doggy Dave’s piss. He mops the lobby with it. Well it’s not just his piss but I don’t want to lose you yet.
I’m originally from Leeds. 46, Mixed Race, Caribbean and British and I’m a mum of 4 with just Romario, 9, still at home. He’s autistic but I’m not an autism mum. I studied film at Leeds Metropolitan University and I’ve been an emerging film maker for the last 20 years. We’ve tried forceps. I’ve been rejected by the best, Film4, Emmerdale but I’m happy as long as I’m creating on my own terms. Which I suppose is what my blog is all about. I don’t need a crew, budget or a cast. Just a few hours here and there, access to the internet and the world on my doorstep.
That’s Wardenders is all about. It’s my affectionate take on Ward End, the place I’ve called home for the last five years. I’m kinda new here and it’s a different kind of hood (majority Muslim) and Wardenders is my tongue in cheek look at the ways the different cultures around me respond to the fuckries we find ourselves facing together.
If you’ve reached this far you’re probably the type of person who doesn’t mind hearing that my downstairs neighbour mops the communal area in a special blend of dog, cat and human piss. Or reading about how shit the local youths are at crime. It’s possible I’ll reach your limit eventually but until then, welcome to Much a Jude About Nothing. I hope you enjoy x
